What is CMYK Process Printing?
CMYK (Cyan, Magenta, Yellow, and Black) process printing is a color printing method used in printing presses to produce full-color images and graphics. It’s one of the most common printing methods used in the printing industry, especially for printing marketing materials such as brochures, flyers, and posters.
In CMYK printing, the colors are created by combining four inks, each with a different hue: cyan, magenta, yellow, and black (the “K” in CMYK). These inks are applied to the paper in a carefully controlled manner, allowing the printer to produce a wide range of colors. By varying the amount of each ink used, the printer can create an almost infinite number of hues, shades, and tones.
One of the main advantages of CMYK printing is that it’s capable of producing accurate and consistent colors, making it ideal for printing branding materials and other marketing materials that need to match a specific color palette. However, it’s important to note that the final output may not match the colors on a computer monitor or digital file, as CMYK printing has a limited color gamut.
